Getting started

Sign in with Apple, or with an email address and a password. The Sessions tab opens on a session for the time of day. Press Listen to hear it, or pick a pack and a way to hear it. Every account starts with credits each month, so there is nothing to buy to try it.

Voices

The lines are read in the voice you choose. Under Your voices, or from any session, pick one from the library: search it by name, or narrow it by accent, age and what a voice is for. Describe a voice in your own words to hear a few that fit and keep one. Record your own by reading a few short passages aloud, or hand over a recording of yourself; after that every line can come back in your own voice. The guide, the doubt and the circle each have a voice of their own, so a session can be a conversation.

Ways to listen

Packs offer some or all of these. Said to you: the lines said to you, by someone else. Guided: a guide gets you ready first, calming you down or lifting you up as the pack needs, then the lines are yours. Doubt and answer: the doubt speaks first, in another voice, and your line answers it. Circle of voices: several voices take turns. Ask yourself: a question to sit with, then the line as your answer. Future you: you, a few years on, telling you how it turned out. A session is made once, with its own music, and then it is yours to play.

Loops

Loops is one line at a time, on repeat. Write a line in your own words, choose who says it, set its tone, and play it. Lines you write join your library beside the packs.

Tone and Add feeling

Tone puts a direction into a line where you want it: a feeling, a pause, a laugh, an accent. It changes how the line is said, and is never read out. Add feeling does this for you: it reads the line and places directions where they change how the words land, without changing a word. Both can be turned off in Settings, and every line is then read plainly.

Sounds and soundtracks

Under every line and session you can have a sound: rain on a window, a fireplace, the ocean at night, among others. Describe one of your own and the app makes it. A session also gets its own music, made to its length and in the mood of its pack. The sound and the soundtrack have their own levels, and either can be turned off.

Languages

Listen in lets every line play translated into another language, packs and sessions included, while your library keeps what you wrote.

Offline

What you have heard stays on your device and plays again with no signal. Download a pack from its page, or from its header in your library, and all of it plays with no connection. Downloads are managed in Settings.

Credits and plans

Making something new costs credits: a line read for the first time, a session, a voice, a sound, a soundtrack. Playing what is already made costs nothing. The app shows the cost before it makes anything, and the final cost is never more than shown. Every account gets credits each month on the free plan; Pro brings more each month, by the month or the year, and credits can also be bought in packs. Subscriptions are managed in your Apple Account.

Your account and data

Your library follows your account across devices. Before anything you write or record leaves the app, it asks you once and names who receives it; you can take that back in Settings under Data Sharing. Delete your account in Account, which removes your content, your recordings and your voices. The Privacy Policy says what is kept and for how long.
